Zacchaeus the chief tax collector had an unusual encounter with Christ ;

He climbed a sycamore-fig tree to check out who Jesus was, reaping a surprise !

Christ seized the chance to dine with this man whom the crowd identified as ‘sinner’ ;

Upon which, Zacchaeus made a genuine repentance, seeking God’s forgiveness !

By this living example so displayed, Zacchaeus’ reward for salvation was instantaneous ;

Mercy bestowed upon a man, whom people deemed unworthy and frivolous !

Let us practise viewing our brethren with God’s Eye of compassion ;

Never judge another by their mere appearance !

Let us confess our defaulting ways unto God’s Almighty early ;

Seek Him urgently, that we may be restored absolutely !

God knoweth our hearts, our intentions, and earnest desires ;

Let us learn from the spirit of Zacchaeus whom we can emulate and admire !

Let us focus upon saving the lost ;

Let us show compassion to others for such good cause !
